Cameron always had a nice life ahead of him. Loving parents, a responsible older sister, and the whole shop to be his welfare once his parents left it to him, as he was the legitimate heir, so to speak. In fact, he was totally satisfied with his life how it was. He'd had childish fantasies of magic being in the family and actually being lucky enough to be a mage, but shrugged them off. That was completely improbable, right? He read all about mages, but that was them. Them was an entirely different concept from me, after all. You hear about them getting robbed, but it never happens to me, for example.

He found a bit of unpleasantness in his life when, around age fourteen or fifteen, the local boys found it fun to ostracize him for, well, having money. He himself never saw what was so wrong with it, he wasn't very different from them aside from having nicer clothes, but kids are cruel. So from then on, Cam didn't have many friends, instead just concentrating on his relationship with his family and how to run the store. Not a particularly traumatic childhood, really. He just doesn't know much about his peers, and treats most people like adults.

When the testers came, he expected he would have no talent, like Monica. Why would he, anyway? It wasn't even in their blood, for crying out loud. But magic is fickle, and pops up in some of the most unexpected people. When the test concluded, wouldn't you know it, Cam was told he had the talent for magic in him. Truthfully, he thought the testers were joking, but the serious looks on their faces told otherwise. From the point he closed his suitcase, he resolved to study harder than anybody else, so he'd pass for sure and his childhood dreams of adventure and magic, seeming ridiculous then, really could become a reality.

Cam is energetic and intense, taking everything as a challenge to be overcome. He enjoys sports and physical activity, and though he isn't the best at memorization and things he considers "boring", like politics and history, he had a good mind for math, as would be needed running a store. He tries to make everything into a game, and has trouble being serious about anything, even if he needs to. Even studying to fulfill his dream is a game, a game of competition. He intends to take first place, no matter who he's competing against.

Naturally, he's a good sport, as any good sportsman is. He has a deep dislike for cheaters, and admires anyone who is talented and hard-working. He's not the biggest fan of the lazy, naturally, and if ("when", in his words) he becomes a mage, it's unlikely he'll stop moving even then. He loves trying new things, even if he ends up not liking them, and always gives everyone a chance, even if the chance of him liking them in the end is small. He has trouble concentrating on something if it's no longer fun, however. He's been taught to do formality, though is more used to speaking casually, and may tend to ramble. He has a strange tendency to talk to himself when especially excited.

Cam has honey-brown eyes, which have run in the family for god-knows-how-long. His hair is a light shade of brown to match, and his skin a healthy pink shade, not pale, but not very tanned. He looks youthful for nineteen, though not so much that he looks like a child. He isn't the most attractive young man out there, closer to average, though not ugly either. He prefers to wear clothing in shades of red and orange.
